Dynamics GP Tech Conference: September 9-11, 2019
The Dynamics GP Tech Conference in Fargo, North Dakota, wrapped up yesterday afternoon. Held in the city where GP was originally developed, the conference was hosted by GPUG and served as a gathering place for GP Partners to gain insights on a variety of topics. Session topics included:
- Custom developments in GP
- Utilizing Power BI with GP data
- SQL Server
- Installations and upgrades
- ISV add-on showcases
- Management Reporter
- Computer Data Source
- GP navigation and shortcuts
One of the more interesting sessions at the conference was titled “Cloud Migration to Dynamics 365 Business Central from Microsoft Dynamics GP.” While support and investment in Dynamics GP will last for several more years, Microsoft is positioning Dynamics 365 Business Central a step up for GP users who are ready to move from on-premise software to the cloud.
Business Central includes a migration tool that allows users to easily move their data into it. Microsoft Partners such as Turnkey Technologies can help GP users migrate to Business Central using this tool.
User Group Summit North America: October 13-15, 2019
The North American User Group Summit in Kissimmee, Florida, is the next conference GPUG will be involved with. Dynamics GP will be featured alongside other Microsoft Business solutions such as Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Dynamics AX, Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement, Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics NAV and the Microsoft Power Platform.
